Monitoring Hate Speech Online: Umati

Feb 7, 2013 by

I detest how various persons consider criticism opposing their “sovereign” opinion to be hate speech; or how an expression against a character or topic dear to them turns to be hate speech. I find this ignorance highly infuriating. Some of my friends hold back from biting others when such talk touches on political issues or local soccer (football).I_want_peace

Anyway, I wouldn’t blame you. It’s not your fault. Be informed that we are free to criticise whoever we do not like, with the harshest words possible, as long as we don’t incite against any groups of people.

On the social media, I see a lot of misplaced judgment of political speech being condemned as hate speech, or, any “unpleasant” opinion being branded the same. Do we really know what hate speech means? If you don’t, you have a chance to. Do NOT leave this page before you do.

What does hate speech mean?

Negative Thinking: A Must Have for Success

Jan 29, 2013 by

“What makes humans develop winning personalities is not only being positive about what we want to be, but being able to accommodate negative thinking and feelings of uncertainty and manage them.”

Negative thinking sounds like the norm especially such times when we don’t know of the next negative the world has for us. We are surrounded with continuous news on adverse negativity in the society. Television sets and radio airwaves fill the air with sadness on various bad things that happen around us: road accidents, terror attacks, government scandals and grafts, among others.

negative-thinkingOur daily lives are also not so pleasant either: being caught up in traffic on our way to work is more than annoying, your closest friends exhibit the most unfriendly behaviour , your boss is always on your neck, exams are the worst part of education, the list is endless. This negativity fills our mind and positive thinking has no room.

All along I thought that it was bad for self improvement but I was shocked to be wrong. Being pessimistic actually has positive effects, more than u can guess, I bet. All this positive thinking I have been advocating for almost sounded useless.

I Apologize To My Blog

Jan 16, 2013 by

I_apologizeI apologize to my blog for not being there for it. It’s been quite a while since I last got in touch with this blog. I feel ashamed when I take a look at what I was once so committed to and now consider it as though I have little attached to it. I acknowledge that I didn’t give much to my self improvement course. My plea to self esteem was sinking and I felt as if the power in me was once gone.

I expressed extenuation to what I was committed to. I look at my post on personal growth and the need to mitigate my fallen desires whispers around me. The feeling reminds me of the story of a man who didn’t know his land had diamonds and sold it just to go to Africa to seek more precious stones. He didn’t succeed and killed himself. A short while later, miners discovered his sold land and his buyer had new wealth.

5 Steps Of Ending The Feeling of Losing Control

May 27, 2012 by

As much as we get motivated on being courageous, probably, we also collect affirmations to help us end the feeling of losing control. However, this sometimes fails to work. The feeling of losing control does not seem to leave us. Our fears seem to be so real and they manifest most of the times as we strive to carry out our tasks without failing. Have the previous posts lit some truth yet it still seems not applicable? Have you tried applied them but it seems far from reachable?

ending feeling of losing controlIt must have felt like I was just doing it for the sake of writing, didn’t it? I meant everything I wrote. I have proven it. I have suggested it to others and it has worked. Some of them have grown to be more comfortable than I have been. You are also on the verge of discovering it. Hope you are prepared to discover the technique that I have used for the past four years.

This technique has made me realize that I need not to worry about situations but have fun. It has brought miracles before me and got me scared at times; due to the extraordinary things that I have found myself accomplish. It has made me venture into activities that I least expected I could. It has also made me learn a lot about myself.

I at times don’t even believe they really happened. Sometimes I get sceptical and like you, probably, think it was a coincidence, or some supernatural force took over. It is so powerful that I called it “THE ULTIMATE FEAR DOMINATION” technique.

Here’s the technique I have used to end the feeling of losing control:

  • Before you get to do any task that you would like to achieve, know what you want to achieve. Know what your end result is. Write it down somewhere and read it aloud. Picture the end result and look for the emotions that would be associated with the success. Get the feel of success and focus on this emotion for about 5 minutes.
